Retired School Teacher has “Luck that Lasts a Lifetime”

Lucky for Life Winners Mary & Steve Rice

The Montana Lottery’s newest game, Lucky for Life™, hasn’t even been on sale for two months and we already had our first $25,000 a year for life winner.  Mary Ann and Steve Rice from Helena came to Lottery headquarters today to claim their $25,000 a year for life prize with a ticket they purchased at Van’s Thriftway, 306 Euclid Ave.; Helena.

Mary Ann is a retired school teacher and Steve is a general contractor. Steve had purchased a Lucky for Life ticket for the draw that occurred before their big win. He had matched the Lucky Ball on that ticket, winning him $4, and decided to use that money to buy two more Lucky for Life tickets. While at Van’s he called his wife and asked if she would like him to buy her a Lucky for Life ticket also, to which she replied yes. That was the ticket that ended up being a $25,000 for life winner!

Mary Ann and Steve stated that their daughter Ashley is their “lucky charm” and her birthday was actually one of the winning numbers. They plan to use their winnings to pay some bills and visit their daughter in Washington D.C. Because their prize is “for life,” they will continue to use their winnings as a supplemental income and to help out family and friends.
