Brian Elliott of Buffalo is Minnesota’s second Lucky for Life lifetime prize winner. A ticket that Elliott purchased for the March 12 drawing matched the first five numbers to win $25,000 a year for life.
“I was on the way to meet my sister for her birthday lunch, and stopped at the store for a beverage and decided to purchase a Lucky for Life ticket,” Elliott explained. “I like the payouts, cash prizes and odds. It’s similar to Hot Lotto.”
Elliott said he checked his ticket online at 3 a.m. on March 13. “I looked and looked,” he said after the first five numbers on his ticket matched the first five numbers drawn. He shared his discovery with his long-time girlfriend, Cindy VanLith, who verified that the ticket did win $25,000 a year for life.
“Brian has been playing a long time,” VanLith said. “He always said he’s going to win.”
Elliott claimed the prize at the Lottery’s Roseville office on March 13. He selected the cash option of $390,000.
