Sharon Silva became the Idaho Lottery’s first ever $5,000 winner on the new draw game, Lucky for Life after only the fourth draw in Idaho. Silva bought her ticket at the Jacksons on Chinden Blvd in Garden City on a whim.
“I’d seen the commercials and thought that winning $1,000 every day for the rest of my life sounded good. It was the first ticket I bought for that game,” said Silva.
After the draw, she used the Lottery’s mobile web site to check her numbers on her smart phone. Not believing what she saw or certain how much she’d won, she then used the Lottery’s check-a-ticket app to scan the ticket.
“I’d never seen it say ‘Contact the Lottery’ before, so I knew it must be pretty good,” she added.
Excited for her win, Silva was planning on saving her winnings, vowing to continue to play until she won a larger jackpot.
