A Massachusetts woman is the fourth lucky state resident to claim a Lucky for Life® grand prize in Thursday night’s drawing, since the inception of the game in 2012.
Gail Harmon won the game’s $1,000 a day for life prize by correctly matching all six numbers from the drawing held on the September 22, 2016. Harmon’s winning Quic Pic ticket combination was 15-17-27-37-45, and the Lucky Ball number 08.
Harmon elected to receive her prize as a cash option and received a one-time payment of $5.7 million, less tax withholdings. Her plans for the windfall include buying a lake home in New England. Harmon’s lucky ticket was purchased at Broadway Convenience located at 14 Broadway Road in Dracut. The store will receive a $50,000 bonus for its sale.
The multi-state Lucky for Life game is played in 20 states and the District of Columbia. In addition to this fourth grand prize award, the Mass. State Lottery has awarded a total of 24 second-tier prizes of $25,000 a year for life.
