A West Warwick, RI man will be celebrating his birthday with $25,000 every year for the rest of his life. The winner cashed in his Lucky for Life® ticket from last night’s drawing, which matched the first five numbers but not the Lucky Ball number to win the second prize of $25,000 a year for life.
He said his wife passed away two years ago, and he feels that this was her way of giving him a birthday present. The winner shared the news of his win with his boss this morning by asking him if he knows anyone that ever won the lottery. When his boss responded “No”, the winner quickly replied, “You do now.” He assured his boss he’d be back to work on Monday, but told Lottery staff he was planning on retiring in a year, so this money will make that easier.
